Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms of service carefully. By using Laundry.Joburg services, you agree to be bound by these terms of service. If you do not agree to all of these terms and conditions, do not make use of Laundry.Joburg’s services.


Laundry.Joburg
Your contracting partner is Laundry.Joburg, a private company established in the Republic of South Africa (“Laundry.Joburg”).

Services offered
Laundry.Joburg provides pick-up and delivery services for laundry and dry cleaning. Laundry.Joburg has its own laundry plant however we also interact with Dry Cleaners and Laundromats to clean laundry that you give to Laundry.Joburg. Pick-up and delivery may be requested through WhatsApp. All services provided by Laundry.Joburg to you by means of your use of WhatsApp are hereafter referred to as the “Service”.

Concluding a contract with Laundry.Joburg
By confirming via WhatsApp that you require our services, you enter into a contract with Laundry.Joburg (the “Contract”). We will require your name, surname, mobile telephone number and address for pick-up and delivery. You represent that if you are an individual, you are of legal age to enter into a binding contract, or that if you are registering on behalf of a legal entity, that you are authorized to enter into, and bind the entity to, these User Terms and register for the Service.

Concluding a contract with Laundry.Joburg
The minimum order price is ZAR200.00 and may change from time to time.

Use of service
You warrant that the information you provide to Laundry.Joburg is accurate and complete. Laundry.Joburg is entitled at all times to verify the information that you have provided and to refuse the Service.

Payment
Laundry.Joburg shall charge you for the services you request, which may include dry cleaning, laundered shirts, wash & fold, or related services (“Cleaning”). You agree that you will pay for all Cleaning you requested through Laundry.Joburg. You are responsible for the timely payment of all fees. Any payment made is non-refundable.

Indemnification
By accepting these User Terms and using of our Service, you agree that you shall defend, indemnify and hold Laundry.Joburg, its affiliates, its licensors, and each of their officers, directors, other users, employees, attorneys and agents harmless from and against any and all claims, costs, damages, losses, liabilities and expenses (including attorneys’ fees and costs) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your violation or breach of any term of these User Terms or any applicable law or regulation, whether or not referenced herein; (b) your violation of any rights of any third party, or(c) your use or misuse of the Application or Service.

Damaged or Lost Items
It is our priority to supply the best care to your garment and we appreciate your trust.

    Missing Items
While it is never our intention for an item to go missing, occasionally it can happen. If this is the case, please notify us within 2working days from drop-off on WhatsApp at +27 71 448 6851 or by emailing us at info@laundry.joburg. Notifying the delivery driver is insufficient. All claims are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Items are considered lost eight (8) business days after the initial claim has been made. All decisions on lost items are in Laundry.Joburg’s sole discretion and are final.
    Reimbursement Guidelines
For Wash and Fold, Wash and Iron and Dry Cleaning, any reimbursement for an item or order deemed lost or damaged by Laundry.Joburg shall be limited to and shall not exceed eight (8) times the charge for cleaning the lost item (not inclusive of tax and other fees) regardless of brand, price or condition of the garment, or ZAR300, whichever is lower. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Laundry.Joburg’s aggregate liability in connection with a lost or damaged item shall not exceed the foregoing amount. Laundry.Joburg’s offer for reimbursement is valid for ten (10) business days once the offer is made. Any attempts at redemption beyond that will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. All decisions on lost and damaged items are in Laundry.Joburg’s sole discretion and are final.

Laundry.Joburg does not take responsibility for any loose items lost when submitted in a Cleanly bag, such as watches, jewelry, cufflinks, money, wallets, etc. and shall have no liability for such items. Laundry.Joburg additionally is not liable for damage caused by you not selecting the correct service when placing an order (e.g. selecting wash and fold instead of wash andiron, forgetting to add hang dry service). Laundry.Joburg is also not liable for damage caused by, but not limited to lose items like pens and lipstick.

Any damaged items must be reported by sending us a WhatsApp at +27 71 448 6851 or by emailing us at info@laundry.joburg within seven (7) days of delivery of the order. Notifying the delivery driver is insufficient. All damaged items must be inspected by Laundry.Joburg through digital photos of each damaged item, within seven (7) days of delivery of the order. All decisions on damaged items are in Laundry.Joburg’s sole discretion and are final.
    Damaged Items
Although we do our best to prevent any damages to your garment, unfortunately every garment, regardless of brand or quality, will wear out over time, and there is nothing Laundry.Joburg can do to predict when this will happen, or prevent it. For damage related to normal wear and tear, Laundry.Joburg does not provide reimbursement or compensation. Per industry standards, the following are considered to be normal wear and tear:

            * Shrinkage from repeated laundering
            * Curtain shrinkage
            * Color fading Small holes or tears
            * Discoloration caused by hygiene or beauty products (deodorant, perfume, cologne)
            * Button or zipper damage
           * Thinning of fabric

Pick-Up and Delivery
Our goal is to provide valuable and timely service to all our customers and partners. Therefore, you can notify us 2 hours before the requested pickup time if you need to reschedule. If you cancel a pickup less than 2 hours before your requested time, or if our partners cannot deliver or pickup an order because you or your designee failed to appear, we may charge a cancellation fee in a reasonable amount (currently set at ZAR100).

We hope to provide a convenient service to all our customers and can leave orders outside residences or with a doorman, provided the customer gives written consent. However, once delivery has been made, we will not be held responsible or liable for the loss or damage of any items. It is the customer’s sole responsibility to ensure the safety of items after delivery by Laundry.Joburg. You have an option to ask us to leave your laundry with the doormen or other location, but Laundry.Joburg will not be responsible for any loss cause as a result.
